What does "Code Year" mean?

Code year is the year the home was built or last renovated. We use this to determine default construction features for the home. If you don't know the exact year the home was built or last renovated, just enter an approximate year. For individual construction feature groups such as "above grade walls", "ceilings" and the like the "code year" is inherited from the project but if a section of the home was built or renovated at a different time than the rest of the home, you can specify a "code year" applicable only to that specific set of construction features.
