The long anticipated next generation version of Cool Calc Manual J is finally here. This is not just an update; our development team has spent that last two years completely redesigning the software from the ground up.
We launched the beta version of Cool Calc in 2015 as a proof of concept. At the time, we never anticipated having over 35k users sign up, and quite frankly our underlying architecture was not designed to handle that level of traffic. As a result, many of our users complained about slow performance and the occasional loss of data. We attempted some patches early on, but quickly realized that if we wanted our software to be "enterprise-grade", we needed to start over.
We appreciate everyone's patience through our growing pains. I am pleased to say that the next generation of Cool Calc is built on a secure and lightning fast architecture, designed to scale as our user base grows.
As many of you know, the beta application was completely free to use. I am exciting to announce that the next generation version of Cool Calc will continue to have zero up-front costs. Users can still perform full end-to-end load calculations and view the final calculations for free.
Under the new version, users only incur a per-report fee if they our like to download or print an official ACCA Manual J Report. We felt this was the best option to keep user costs to a minimum while also allowing us to continuously invest in developing world class software.
